Charges $2 To Call Customer Service If you call the phone number they direct you to on their website more than twice in a 30-day period, you will be charged $2! Even when you call to ask what the charge is for, you get charged an ADDITIONAL $2!

I had a question about a transfer that didn't appear on my online banking. I clicked 'Contact Us', and dialed the number provided. Two days later I was online again reviewing my account, and the issue wasn't resolved. I called again to inquire about it. Several days later I noticed a $2 charge on my online statement. I called to ask what it was for, and I was told that it was for calling more than twice during a 30-day period. And, by the way, I was told I was being charged an additional $2 for calling and asking what the $2 charge was for! I was told I called twice the first time, but I only recall calling them once. To check on it again 2 days later became my 3rd call, which I am charged for.

I've banked with them for 3 years, and this is the first time I had ever heard of this. Allegedly years ago it was included as an insert with a monthly bank statement (although she was unsure when this actually began to be another charge against our accounts). When you are on the website and click 'contact us', there is no disclaimer that this may not be a free call. When you call the phone number and get the voice menu, there is no mention that this 'may not be a free call'. Talk about being nickled and dimed to death!

They did remove both of these $2 charges for me, but when I suggested they better inform customers about these charges because they are just going to cause themselves tons of needless complaint calls I don't think the representative really cared. Then I realized that they WANT these calls, because they'll get $2 for each one! Unbelievable! I called the FDIC, the Clark Howard show, and neither had ever heard of a bank charging this sort of charge. Beware, because once one bank finds a way to rip us off, the others will follow suit!
