Complaint / Review
Navy Federal Credit Union
IRA Bait and Switch

I obtained a sent observe that my IRA would mature in April. I named NFCU after getting a written notice nicely prior to the maturity day (over 3 months in front of readiness) and chosen A - 30-month 4.10% price they were providing.

After I examined my consideration yesterday, I noticed where NFCU didn't recognize the price I picked, but rather restored my IRA because of its unique phrase (5 years) in a reduced price of 3.3%. I had been never advised via telephone or mail or U.S. Email the restoration wasn't likely to be what I picked.

I called NFCU to ask what occurred thinking it had been simply an administrative mistake but was informed the 4.10% price "ended fourteen days before my IRA certification matured." I questioned why I wasn't educated and obtained no practical solution except that "the client support individual who helped me did not understand what the termination time was." Baloney! I insisted on talking with a boss but "she was active." I requested to become attached to a supervisor, but that individual "isn't available." I subsequently requested to become called back and today, significantly more than one hour later, no-call back.

This Can Be A BAIT-AND-SWITCH strategy so far as I am worried. At least, NFCU must have named me prior to the certification matured and mentioned the 4.10% price was no more available. I truly might have NOT selected to restore to a different 5-year period in a low-rate.

These are deceptive methods and NFCU ought to be ashamed of itself. When they don't solve this, a is likely to be submitted via NCUA.
