Someone contacted me via my home phone number stating that I had missed my court date today. I was being sued in a civil lawsuit for some old credit card charges. They basically wanted me to give a payment over the phone with a credit card as a promise to payoff this fraudulent debt.
They use techniques to scare you into making rash decisions and giving them access to your credit card numbers. THe thing is, they do sound legite at first because they have information off your credit report.
They claim that if you do not promise to pay today that the company will persue you further in court. This is your one chance to setle out of court.
