Our experience with this unscrupolous company who preys on desperate and trusting individuals is similar to others who have been scammed by them.
On 02/27 my domestic partner received a call from someone who claimed to be with the credit card company she has an account with. They said that they woul be able to reduce her interest rate and guaranteed to save her a minimum os $5,000.00 or it would not cost her a dime. Although I have warned her on numerous occasions not to respond to telemarketeering offers, and since we also are on 'The Do Not Call Registry', and since they claimed to be from the issuer of her credit card, she fell right into their deceptive trap.
She then was transfered to a customer rep who would assist her with the rest of the transaction. This person, who called herself Liz, then proceeded to get all of my partners credit card information. She then attempted to contact the issuers of her credit cards to see if they would reduce her interest rate. She was successful in reducing one of the cards rate for a saving of a liitle over $1,000.00. She informed my partner since they were unable to save her the $5,000.00 they guaranteed that her credir card would not be charged.
Well lo and behold, when I went on line the next day, there it was, a charge for $995.00. I immediately submitted a dispute because my partner had failed to get a telephone number form these people and did not know who to contact regarding the charge.
On 04/07 I finally got a responce from the credit card company informing me us that since they were not able 'to receive sufficient information' they were unable to assist us. They gave us 10 days to respond or they would consider the matter resolved. Althugh this letter from the creditor was dated as stated above, I did not receive it untill yesterday, 04/13.
Thats when I went on-line to the BBB and discovered, 1. They are not acreditted, 2. They have an F rating, 3. That they have received numerous
unresolved complaints. I was able to get their phone number from their web site and immediately called. After being transferred numerous time, they finally put me in contact with Julia, who claimed to be a supervisor. I explained the situation to her and she agreed that my card should have not been charged. She informed me that I would get a call today from some one in the 'retention dept.' at 10: am. Well at exactly 10: am I received t a call from someone named Chris who said he was from the 'retention dept.' I requested a refund since they were unable to deliver what they had guaranteed. At that point He said he would send a "brochure", and informed me that he was a 'financial advisor' and that they offered numerous services. When I informed him that we already had a financial advisor and was just interested in getting a refund, he immediately hung up. When I attempted to call him back on the number listed on my caller ID, (850) 648-6744, I was informed that the number was no longer in service
I belive they are trying to buy time, as they are doing to MAS, from Washinton to slip through the 120-day window from my Feb. 27 purchase.in conclusion, I am also upset with my credit card company, who's putting us through all these hoops just to to get our credit from these obvious scammers.
