On March 14 I attempted to withdraw $ 500.00 from my Account Now using an ATM owned by American United Bank. This is a transaction that I usually do every 2 weeks after I got paid. When I went to make the withdrawl, I received a message stating that I was unable to complete transaction please contact your financial institution, I wasn't alarmed becuasue this has happened before and usually rectified itself.
I went back the next day and attempted to a take out $ 300,00. Again, I received the same error message. I was still able touse my debit card yet I could not withdraw funds from that same ATM.
On 3-16-09, while at work, I planned on contacting Account Now to tell them them of this issue and checking my balance. While checking my balance, I discoveredthat my account had been debited $ 802,00, I realized that it was the 2 ntrasnaction where I received the unable to make transaction, please contact yur financial instituion, When I spoke with the customer service person at Account Now, they informed that I need to contact the people at American United Bank, the owner of the Atm. When I did the person at Amedrican United Bank informed me that there was another person who had the same issue and that over the weekend, they did have an communication error. They told me however, the problem was with Account Now. When I told Accout Nowq, they said it was Ame4rican United Bank.
Getting frustrated I kept calling Account Now to speak to a person who could get me some answers. Fianolly one customer serive person said they would transfer me to disputes. At this time the person I believe tnamed Aviana toldm that the dispute processw could take up to 45 business days. I did say that was unacceptable because $ 800 is a good deal of money and I need to pay rent m utilities and nedication. They mentioned that couldn't do anything about and not to get upset with them.
I tried emailing Account Now to get theri attention and it took them 5 days before Ithey responded with an email asking me what's wrong. I did continue to leave with message to Aviana and got no phone call.in the meantime, I had my gas cut off b/c of nonpaymet and despeatef for funds took out a pay day lo0an. On 3-27-09, I filed a complaint with the Office of Currency and Comptroleer who informed me that the dispute couold take 45 days but Accoutn Now had to give me a provisional credit. When I spoke with the next customer service person at Accoutn Now, at pointed out the 10 day business provisonal credit, they told me that they were not governed by those rules.inthe meantime, I began getting sicker b./c I couldn't buy my medicine (I am a diabletic with high blood pressure, The only resposne I received is that they have unitl April 29 to respond. This is not fair. I am angry and feel that they should not only return my moeny to me but feel there should be some punitive damages as well I reside in Illinois. Please contact at work b/c my phone will probably be shut b./c I don't have any money. Right now I have 1.36 in my account. My work number is. They told me to take them to small claiims court except don't have the money to do so b./ecauyse they still have my $ 802,00, Because of opther late fees, I now run the risk of either being eviced or losing my lights. I have allready lost my heat. I have written to my congressman, OCC, Can somebody please help me. Thank you
