I am shocked but not surprised after reading other complaints that WAMU sucks like a sour lemon! They have been stealing money from my elderly grandfather for over two years! He makes out a check to himself, the branch so that he can cash is and deposit the cash into his son's account! When he does this, the teller or another crooked employee will change the bank numbers and re-cash the check for the same amount!!! They have been double cashing his, in branch checks for TWO years since "2007". This was only found out recently because I (his grand-daughter) now handle his financial affairs. The branch manager is always too busy to talk to us, the fraud/forgery dept is crap! Call 1-866-415-0694 and see how well they treat you, you are the victim and they treat you like you stole money from them! My only refuge comes from filing a complaint with the BBB, The California Banking Commission, The California Attorney General, and the FTC. I am also trying to get media attention from the local news helpline! I read in another complaint that they have to send you a Federal Regulation E dispute form, if you are persistent in requesting it! I am doing that also! Wamu, at this location, is now answering the phones as Chase Manhattan! We weren't even notified of the change! To anyone and everyone reading this... I would really think twice before doing business with this bank... They steal!!! In more ways than one, check the unneccessary fees and when they are applied!!!
