On 3/13/09, I drove up to the drive through (Camden Location) at 1:30 pm. I was trying to make a full mortgage payment. The teller was trying to put it through and something came up on the computer. She made a phone call. I just sat there and waited for about 10 minutes. She finally came back and told me that they couldn't accept my payment... I asked why? She then told me that they need the full balance of the loan, approx $146k or two payments. They can't except only one payment and that it is in the letter that I received. I said that the letter said only a full payment... Which I was trying to make. I wasn't even 30 days late on the second payment yet! I called HUD counseling personnel (Virginia) for further help and had them on the phone. She referred me to her college, Julieta Smith. She had called me back and listened to the whole conversation at the bank through the drive through.
A gentleman, Mr. White, had walked into the bank (from a break) and came over to the drive through window and told me that they could not accept my payment and etc. I argued back and said that I had the letter with me and I asked him if I can show it to him. He then said to "Get off my line!" I said "What?" and, I was a little confused. He yelled, "Get off of our property... If you don't, I'll have you removed by the sheriff!" I asked "What the hell did I do?"... He just threaten me more. Julieta was still on the phone and heard the whole conversation. She filed a complaint with the NC Commissioner of Banks... And, so did I.
