On January 29, a withdrawl was made to my bank account in the amount of $500 90 miles from where I reside and currently was. The following morning another attempt was made in the amount of $420, but was caught by B of A. They notified us of these fraudulent charges.
Myself and the card holder (on my account) immediately went to a B of A location, again 90 miles away from the new attempt to show proof that we had our ATM card on hand. We also made a police report with the local department. Apparently, it is very easy to duplicate ATM cards and even obtain PIN's just from using your ATM card at a gas pump.
On January 30 B of A temporarily replaced the $500 in funds that were fraudulently taken. On February 14, only two weeks later, we received a notice in the mail saying that the investigation was closed and that they would be withdrawling our funds on February 18 as our claim was invalid. Did they check the ATM cameras where the ATM card was used? NO. Did they investigate at all? I highly doubt it.
So, I am now out $500 because they refuse to help their long-time, loyal customers. This is NOT the end of it!
