I got a CareCredit card to pay for my daughter's braces. I was given a some material from my dentist that made CareCredit seem like a safe and easy way to pay for $5,000 worth of dental work. The information given to me said I did not have to pay any interest for 18 months. I paid the minimum payment or more every month.
When the promotional period was up I had paid off aboujt $3,000 and owed about 2,000. I planned to pay the remaining amount off in one lump sum. Then I got a finance charge of $1,700! So, now instead of the $2000 plus interst (21%) Which would be about $2250 total, CareCredit says I owe $3,600!!! How that finance charge was arrivede at I don't know.
If it is wrong how do I get it corrected? If it is correct, CareCredit used misleading tactics to make me believe I was getting something I was not. The company says it is healthcare financing on your terms. Well, this is not on my terms. I feel ripped off and betrayed by a company that I felt was trying to make healthcare more available and affordable.
