EBay Ebay Promotional Discount Opening GE BANK Mastercard is a SHAM

Here's the note I wrote to them (tells it all):

Okay, you guys have a very big problem.

I was prompted in August with an eBay promotion for an eBay MasterCard, offering me 15% off my eBay purchase if I signed up and was approved for the card. I was. I made a purchase August 29th that totaled $269.75. Once I saw the invoice total did NOT subtract the 15%, I called your customer support line that same night (as the ebay purchase). I spoke with an Indian (Middle Eastern accent) girl who told me the 15% would be deducted in the first bill. [Trusted her. First mistake.]

The first bill came, and it reflected the entire $269.75 cost. This was wrong, so I called again. This time, I spoke with an Indian male. I asked him his name, and he told me Michael Johnson. Long story short, I was told to send in $229.29, representing the 85% I truly owed, and that the following bill would reflect that I was paid in full. [Trusted him. Second mistake.]

Next bill came. This time the total was the balance (the 15% that I was supposed to have gotten from you, for opening the account) and a $1.57 fee. This was wrong, so I called again. This time, I reached an American (?) girl named Elaine (rude and ignorant), who, after many offline minutes, came back to tell me she removed the $1.57 fee and that there was no need to send in the remainder as it would be cleared up by the next billing, Nov 1st.

So, just prior to Nov 1st, I decided to check on my balance since I'd already lost confidence in your bank and your representatives, and be damned if I still didn't have an outstanding balance!!! My promotional percentage was NEVER credited to my account! I called again, and spoke with another Indian girl named Sheena. Many minutes offline, me waiting on the phone, and bottom line: After all this time, and these phone calls to GE MONEY BANK, I'm now supposed to pick this up with EBAY! Two months later and finally I'm given the classic corporate finger pointing! Sheena offered no contacts or phone numbers. So, more wasted time searching in eBay.

I finally got in touch with an eBay rep, strong accent, named Andrea. Explained to her what was happening; twice on some points, with the language barrier. She then put me in touch with someone else named Genesis also with an accent. Nobody knew what's going on. I had to re-explain to the 2nd specialist that the item I purchased was paid in full, to the eBay seller, using the eBay Mastercard.

Since then, I was told the 15% discount had a cap of $25 on it (that was NOT stated in the original EBAY pop-up/advertisement I still have the original printout of the offer.) I agreed to the $25 credit.in order for that to happen, she had to activate my card (somehow, I was able to make the original eBay purchase but the card was not officially activated???).in the interim, in anticipation of the $25 credit, I tried to use the newly-activated credit card and was denied. This was December for a holiday purchase.

I called again - January. This time a middle-eastern gentleman. I asked that the account be closed. He asked for history, and after I gave it all AGAIN, he said he could give me $20. I told him it was not worth another minute of my time, and just close out the card and send me confirmation. He said I would get confirmation within two weeks. That was about six weeks ago, and I have received nothing.

I plan on sharing this experience with every single person I can, on the internet. You people are unbelievable. I will NEVER have anything to do with GE BANK or anybody that gobbles you up into a bigger bank. I look forward to the day when I read that your bank has gone into bankrupcy. You deserve it. I have NEVER dealt with so many incompetent idiots, representing ONE company, in my entire life.

Read the history of my account (#xxxx. Xxxx. Xxxx. Xxxx) for the full effect. You've strung me along for SIX MONTHS, put me in the middle between two corporations (made ME do all the work for your promotion!), wasted my time, completely unaware of your own relationship with eBay on this appalling, frustrating and unbelievably unprofessional experience. You are unbelievable, and I'm done with you.

Do you think you can send me confirmation on the closure of this account? Do you think you can manage that?
