I've been scammed, conned, manipulated, intimidated, blackmailed, taken advantage and in some way discriminated (happens to be I do have a disability that affects my judgment for everyday life situations) but in this case, let's just get down to the nitty gritty of this problem that hundreds if not millions of Americans are falling victim to: FREE CREDIT REPORT 7 DAY TRIAL' scam, does this ring a bell, can anyone relate?
I cannot imagine how company's like free credit report.com' or mini credit' just to name a few, are willing to help or so they say when they are just doing far worse by contradicting what they represent. They display there blinking flashing lights online to catch people's attention and lure them into their web of schemes and manipulation by advertising a 7 day FREE trial.
Unfortunately, my situation falls in the 'Paid Survey' category. I filled out a generous amount of online registration forms, I did read the terms and conditions. Within 3 days I cancled, I was not even interested in finding out my credit score in the first place.
I did not recieve a confirmation # about the FREE 7 day trial just a e-mail stating a thank you for registering. I did cancel, did not get a confirmation code or # I also unsubscribed. I did not get not a single response back confirming my cancellation.
I did not waste time went to the bank, put a hold on my account, canceled all other accounts. My bank gave me a fraud dispute phone #, I called explained what happened.
Followed the steps the bank Rep. Told me to do I called, disputed and did not get nothing resolved, no refund they even try to compensate for the error for a free months service and on top of that tried to sell me more services. They went over and over telling me I would need to provide some type of proof that you did cancel. I called back to the fraud department, was asked a series of questions and all I got from my bank was this response; 'I'm just giving you a heads up on what to expect, we will process a dispute file, but chances are you won't get your refund back because the company is going to ask for some kind of proof'!
I am now paying for it big time with overdraft fees and it's up in the hundreds now, because not only did they charge me once but charged me for next months service and the overdraft charges continue to accumilate. I need help!!! What should i do next?
