CapitalOne takes revenge for filing a consumer complaints

I filed an earlier report due to what became harassment over one late auto loan payment. I had contacted the company before the payment was late, and explained a temporary hardship situation, but assured them the payment would be made by a specific date. That was 17 days late for just that one payment.

CapitalOne said I would still get calls about the bill until I paid it, no matter what the reason. Actually the calls went on after I paid it, for a while. And boy did they call... Hundreds of times. The worst was very early (before 9:00 A.M. Is early to me on weekends) to my girlfriend's cell phone.

No idea how they got that number, accept she was with me when I bought the car over two years ago, and maybe we gave the dealer several numbers including hers, I think because they had ordered the car, and had to contact me when it was in. And yes I know it's illegal to call relatives and friends to collect a debt. As if that mattered to anyone.

My payments are currently two and 1/2 months ahead, just as I told them they would be once I recovered. But because they had disregarded anything I said before I could catch up, and still called non-stop just to hear the only response I could give them, what they were doing became obvious, deliberate harassment. So I filed a complaint here, and sent CapitalOne a copy of it. (as is recommended in the rip-off revenge book I got here)

Apparently after CapitalOne Auto read that I had complained, CapitalOne auto decided to send me a collection notice for the entire loan amount, and reported a collection on my credit report. I can't believe two weeks justifies a collection notice, particualary when the customer was trying to work with them.

This knocked 20 points off my credit score, and it still shows I have a collection on my report. My account is in good standing now with CapitalOne, but the credit damage remains.

Again we are giving CapitalOne $35,000, 000,000 in bail out funds which their president stated they don't even need. On my loan, they were demanding $13,800 in full on a car that was worth no more than $8,000 retail, in an upside down loan I'm willing to pay.

When I bought the car I had not yet had a near death experience, or a serious limiting health condition that followed, so call me irresponsible, but I couldn't have known that would happen. That's just life.

But banks don't deal with people as people, and it's supposedly a mystery why banks have failed and need bailouts? The ONLY reason I had any trouble paying at all was due to another big company's criminal negligence, filed under Ryan Homes on this site. They caused the illnesses mentioned and a massive loss of funds, and totally got away with it.

Yet CapitalOne Auto was willing to take a loss deliberately on a loan for what I believe was revenge, and still shamelessly expect $35,000, 000,000 in tax dollars just to supposedly help our economy? It seems obvious that all those bailed out banks are going to help themselves first and foremost. Any idea why this country seems to be going down the toilet lately?
