I am sooo glad I found this web-site to report these crooks. I thought I was the only one in NC who felt like this bank was jiving. Right now my account is $-211.08 in the negative for fees they imposed to my account by holding my direct deposit making it look as though it didn't post on "Tuesday" and this is the day my funds ALWAYS come in. This is an e-mail I sent to them giving them an example of how this happened.
"Hello
I just want to say that I do not agree to all these fees that this bank imposes on my account. I don't know how your system does it but my account was not in the negative on Monday the 29th, nor Tuesday the 30th when my direct deposit came in. Please close my account I have no more DP's coming in for you to take from a single parent. Close it Today."
Then after sending them this my account has been accurring fees dailey and they won't close out my account. I have changed banks and have my DP's going to it, and I can't afford paying those fees. Fifth Third had reversed a lot of these fees in the past saying they were sorry and everything, now they tell me they can't reverse anymore these are some DIRTY SCOUNDRELS, I liked First Charter better before they merged and yes, I have told them this too. Times are hard for everybody and they want to TAKE from people. I'm raising two teenagers by byself I don't deserve that. Here is another copy of an e-mail I sent to them and they will not respond. I pray they get what they deserve.
" Unfortunately these fees will continue to incure because like I said previously I have no more direct deposits that will be coming in and I will start a new job this year where I will be paid monthly. I can't imagine what this account will look like in fees for another 30 days that's why I said CLOSE this account, not only that I don't like the way Fifth Third Bank does things I wish it was still First Charter. I have never seen anything like this before the way your banking system figures things. One day 12-01 (example) my account says. $4.34 (example) then the next day (12-02) a check comes in for $39.00, then the following day (12-3) the computer says "oh you are $-34.66" check number 1000 posted 12-01 instead of the actual date 12-02 now here I am with fees and everything. I can't afford Fifth Third Bank. Please close the account out and send a bill for the negative amount because like I said I will not have any more direct deposits coming in and I can't afford any more stupid fees.
