I received a letter stating that I was one of the lucky 32 winners of $10,000 from the annual Chain Stores Giveback Promo. I was randomly selected at the point of sale at one of 71 participating department stores on June 10. I also received a check for $2,250 that had a temporary hold on it. I called the number to speak with Mr. Scott Freeman and he informed me that the check was cleared and could be deposited into my bank account. Then I am to call him back tomorrow to get a reference number to take to Moneygram inside of Walmart and pick up the check for the remaining $7,750. The check was drawn on Comerica Bank. I called Comerica and Moneygram and this is a scam. Mr. Freeman told me that none of my bank account info would be used. So I have taken this check to my bank and they are going to take care of Mr. Freeman and his scam. These look very real and the checks are real. The letter will even have a receipt # on it. Mine had a receipt # from Walmart.
