Avis Car Rental
And rmcb avis employees tried to rip me off and when they fail they turn my acct. Over to a collection agency!

On or about Oct. 15 I was in need of a rental car, so being a computer buff I went to www.hotwire.com and did my research on how much it would cost. Hit tab on rental cars and up came avis, it gave me a phone # which I called. I calle a person at hotline and explained tto them that my wife who is a truck driver was brokedown in Virginia and needed a car to drive to tennessee because we had to catch a flight to Las Vegas that night, This man explained that that would not be a problem and for one day it would cost $24,95.

I ask this guy would it cost any extra for one way. And he had me hold on while he checked, He came back and stated that they do have oneway, but there was no extra fees for that. I ask if he was sure and he said it was positive. So I booked a car with my Credit card, and called my wife to tell here where she could pick it up. She to a cab there and the avis man tells her he will have to see her I.D. And sign some papers.

She signed and was ask if she want the options of daily insurance and aminities. She told him No that she wouldn't have the car more than 10 hours. When she was halfway home I called to see if she was haveing any problems, she said no, but I did know they had charged me $38.95. A day instead. I told her that that is not what I was told but would straiten that out when we turned the car in. She arrived home about 8:30 pm and we got things together, to go to Las Vegas, and catch the 11:15 flight.

We got to the Avis office at 9:40 pm and said I wanted to turn the car in. That is where the nightmare began, The woman tells me that they cain't take the car because my rental agreement is not marked oneway. I told her that I had booked it oneway she said to book it oneway they would have to charge me $138.99. I said noway. I booked it oneway and they told me there was no extra charge for oneway and had told me it was gonna cost $24.95, through Hotline.com

She went to get her boss who told me I would have to pay the $138.99 and if I had a problem with that, I would have to take it up with hotwire.com as they should never have booked a oneway rental. So while my wife was inside discussing it with him I called hotwire. On my cellphone. Gotahold of a woman who told me theywere sorry I was haveing such a problem. But that the first rep. Should have not booked it onewayand should have refered me straight to Avis,

I told her that was not my fault and she agreed and gave me $75.00 credit toward a futue purchase, well I told her that didn't make that much difference as to what they were chargeing me, so I guess I would take care of that, about that time My wife come out and tells me that that Avis Guy was chargeing that to my bill, he came out and handed me some papers and here was my receipt, I ask what he had charged me and he tells me $468.99.

I told him he was trying to Rip me off and I would not stand for it. He said he did not care, that he had my credit card # and my wife's signichure. And I could do anything I wanted, I would still have to pay. Icalled my credit card people and instanly told them what went on and they asked me if I wanted to refute the charges, I told them yes, so they put a hold on the charges.

About a month after I get back from Las Vegas, all was right and the charges had been charged back to Avis. Two weeks later Avis calls me up and says I need to pay my $468.99 bill. I explained to them I did not owe that much and for them to stop harassing me. They called about 4 more times that week and I told them that if someone trys to rip me off they shuld not expect me to do the right thing as I owed them nothing,

They said that they were sory and they would lower the bill to $138.95, as that was what it should have been. I told them that the bill should have been $24.95. And if they sent me a bill with that amount I would pay it. The man said they were not going to lower it anymore, I told them I was not going to pay anymore so this conversation was over. Then about one month later I get a Phone call from R.M.C.B. Collection agency, telling me that they were in charge of my case and Avis was wanting me to pay Avis's bill $100.31 that was owed to them.

I called these people and explained to them about everything that went down and they said they did not care, avis said I owe them so that is what they wanted to collect. They have been harassing me 3-4 times A week for over 6 months now, still working on trying to resolve this but see no end to it yet.
