I have also experienced the same method as Wachovia is doing to their customers at Fifth Third Bank. They do not subtract each transaction as it comes into the bank and list the balance after that transaction they will let them group and they also sutract the largest amount first which then to them gives them the right to charge overdraft charges on all the subtractions.
I am a disabled senior on a limited income and in the last several months have had some financial problems that has strained my bank balance. If you have more than a couple of overdrafts in a 12 mo. Period the overdraft charge is $36.00 per withdrawal plus a $6.00 per day charge untill you can get the balance covered. When you only get paid once a mo. Those charges can add up fast, to several HUNDRED dollars which really creates a problem with my already strained budget. Making the situation much worse.
I would like to see a class action suit against these banks who are ripping people off. They have gotten tottally out of hand.
I am moving my acct. As soon as I can. I have never seen banking practices like this in my whole life. I can't believe that these practices are legal. Yes I am going to a Credit Union. I have had it with Banks. I left Bank of America because of the way they did business and went to First Charter. They weren't to bad, but they were bought out by 53rd.
