I am in the process of being foreclosed BUT I tried to avoid this whole thing seven months ago. My first mortgage is with HomEq and my interest rate adjusted from 6.3 to 9.2 my monthly payment went up $500. I called them immediately when I received the first notice. When I called they said they could not help me yet because they did not know what the rate was adjusting to and they were going to have new programs coming out the following month for hardship. Well I had just had a HEART ATTACK the month prior to receiving this notice and was diagnosed with heart disease. I told them this and they said there was nothing they could do at this time. When I received the second letter and saw what my new payment was going to be I again IMMEDIATELY called them and it was DEVASTATING!!! I was so upset that my health began to go down hill after a miraculous recovery. My heart attack was on April 16th. So again: The first notice came in the beginning of June telling me my rate would adjust. The second notice came the following month with the actual rate adjustment. I took action both times and here I am seven months later with my health going down hill, I now have no health benefits and I am losing my home.
I was told that I could not afford to live in my home and that I needed to do a short sale wen I called th second time. I asked if there was any programs that were implemented to help during hardships (as I was told the month before by a CS rep) and now I was being told that the investors WOULD not work with me.
I am not going to go through the seven months of HELL I have been through BUT I can tell you that I ended up in the hospital in JULY with extremely strong chest pain (I was doing fabulous after my heart attack until this whole mess started with MY HOME) and was diagnosed with pectoral ANGINA and I am still having chest pains and it is horrible... I JUST WANT TO DIE!!!
My doctor could not believe it when I told him about the horrible phone calls from HomEq and that I told them I was under a doctors care... They did not care. He told me not to answer the phone anymore and do not talk to them. Talking to them did not help the situation... All they wanted was their payment and they did not want to help me. This was not in my best interest healt wise to deal with this company and their horrible people. I had my neighbor answer the phone a few times to tell them to quit calling me and they told her they were recording the conversation and she said that we ere going to record the conversation as well and they said we ould not do that and then they would hang up... I mean there are so many stories I could write here, but quite frankly is is making my chest hurt just thinking abou this. I never was able to talk to the same person at HomEq and it was a nightmare talking to different people and having to re hash the same old story with them having NO HONEST solutions. I was lied to about so many things that I can not even believe that this is really happening and that a COMPANY can get away with this. I read these reports and I know exactly what these people are saying and what they are saying here is the TRUTH< some of the reports are like I wrote them because I have had the same things said to me or lied about to me. I was trying to modify my loan and thanks to GOD... I lost my full time status two days after they finally said they would work with me.because I was going to borrow $2200 to reinstate my loan (this is what I had to give them to even begin the modification) and when I lost my full time status and my medical benefits I called them and told them my situation and I again I got another person that was COMPLETELY useless and very unprofessional. Of all the phone conversations I had I only had 2 representatives that were cordial, understanding, and helpful. This housing crisis is about peoples lives... it is not a game. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE STOPPED from what they are doing.
HomEq needs to be stopped. They are UN-ethical. I am ready to give up on life because of their actions. I will be homeless with heart disease. What the hell do I have to live for. The blood will be on THEIR hands.
