A representative from this company (they also go by the name First Security Lending) called my mother in-law and convinced her that they could possibly reduce her mortgage payments (work out a plan with the existing lender). They told her that the cost to her would be $500 but she might have to pay up to $3000 before she got reimbursed. They told her that they would charge her VISA card $1000 initially and got all her personal information.
Somebody else from the same company called her and left a message for her and told her that they needed her Power of Attorney before they proceeded (this is something you would only give to your most trusted people). This all came to surface as my mother in law was visiting us today. We called her VISA card and we found out that they had charged the full $3000 on her card.
Brief history on my mother in law. She has had health problems for the last 5 years, constantly in and out of hospital and is on heavy medication. They took advantage of this woman in poor health.
We are also notifying the DA's office in our area about this company.
