Ok, so here's the deal... I made my August payment on August 22... It wasn't due till August 29th I believe... Then I had some extra money in early September and I chose to be a great customer and I made my payment for my September bill on September 5th... Mind you the bill wouldn't be due until the end of the month.
So now it's October 7th and I decided to go online and figure out what bills would have to be paid with my husbands next check and how much those bills would be. We live from paycheck to paycheck in our house since he is the only person working. I proceeded to go onto the website for my pearl gold mastercard to see what my available balance was... I already knew the bill would be $35 and due at the end of the month... When I discover that my account is supposedly overdrawn and I now owe $70 instead of $35. Needless to say I was flabbergasted... How could my account be overdrawn and I owe so much... I made my payment on time and I have been very careful not to go over my limit.
So I called the company that handles my card which is WebBank... This is what they told me... My bill wasn't sent out to me until the 6th of September and because I made the payment on the 5th it wouldn't be applied to September's bill... EXCUSE ME!!! I made my September payment in September... Extremely early mind you... And they refuse to apply it toward my September bill. I have never made a late payment to this account, in fact, most of my payments had been early! Had I known that I couldn't pay my bill until I recieved the actual paper bill in the mail, then I would have waited... I figured it's September, so I can go ahead and pay my September bill.
Oh how wrong I was... So when they absolutely refused to adjust my account and apply the payment I made on September 5th to my September bill... I proceeded to cut up my card with them on the phone, and I made sure they heard me!!! I also informed them that they will NEVER SEE ANOTHER DIME FROM ME!!!
I was a great customer and they screwed me over anyway... So beware... It doesn't matter whether you are a great customer or a bad customer... They will find a way to screw you over!!! Do not accept their offer to have a credit card while paying off an old debt... They will find a way to mess it up even more for you and then you will owe even more!!! I tried to fix my credit... But i guess filing for bankruptcy is my only choice now... I will do everything in my power to make sure that this company never sees another penny!
