Due to my husband's work (truck driver), his pay is never the same and sometimes none of there is no loads to haul. I have fallen several months behind on his 4-wheeler payments. Things are finally looking up and in 4 days I will have the funds to bring his account totally current. I tried to logon to the website awhile back and it said the status of the account had changed and to call a certain number for a copy of the statement.
As everyone knows when you call, the wait time is outrageous. I am usually calling while I am at work so I cannot always wait forever before hanging up. We have not received anything from them in the mail for several months. They claim I must have clicked a box when registering online to cancel paper statements. Not so. Last week, I received a call from a man wanting to come out to reposess it. This was the first time that I had heard anything about this going to happen. I still have not received anything from HSBC saying this was going to be their next step. A couple of days after I talk to this man, I get a regular statement from HSBC in the mail. It says "We have a program to bring your account up to date. For eligibility call, # today. I did. It sent my call to the recovery department. Strange that now the wait time is virtually non-existent and you go straight to a person. Now I am told that I cannot make a payment to bring it current and that I have to pay in full or it will still be repossessed. I don't know what to do. I can't understand why they won't let me pay it current. They stand to make more money off of the interest if they would. I don't know what to do next. I would suggest to anyone financing at a dealership to make sure that it is a regular loan and not their credit card.
