Paid fraudulent charge transactions on a new unused and unauthorized and unactivated credit card Texas

09/20

I had ordered Verizon DSL for my computer on or about march. I had paid for the service with my Amazon Chase Credit Card for like $50.00 for the DSL modem and software package. About that same time Verizon telephone was being acquired by Fairpoint Communications. I have a few credit cards registered on the internet on their appropriate secure websites for paying transactions on the internet rather than sending a check in the mail to the appropriate credit card company. I paid Discover Credit Card on their own secure website for a $50.00 Verizon Wireless charge that appeared on my Discover card in March April May and June. I found out later that I am not a Verizon Wireless customer and that the charges on my Dsicover card were all fraud. Those were not my charges and had nothing to
do with my Verizon computer DSL because Fairpoint took them over as to the telephone landlines, DSL and everything else.

I reported to Discover Card that I had paid for 4 transactions that were not mine and that I wanted my money back. I was told that it would go into dispute and I would have to wait about 90 days to get my money back after an investigation.

Discover said that they would issue me new cards because of the compromise and the fraud charges on the existing card.

I received my new card but did not activate the card. When one gets a new credit card (any credit card) before one can use it you must first call the bank center with your home telephone and get it activated and then take the sticky tape of off the card that has the 1-800 telephone number on it.

Well, after several weeks the card laying on my desk next to the laptop I decided to activate the Discover card. After activation I discovered to my dismay athat there were four more fraud transactions made on the card several days before I had activated the card. The four transactions amounted to $263.00 Now, how can this be. It's a second fresh new card, never been used or activated with four transactions on it. I am out the previous four transactions amounting to $200.00 and I'm dammed if I am going to pay Discover another $263.00 that are not my charges.

I discovered the first four charges as not beig mine around first week of July and had called Disacover and reported the fraud chaeges to them.

I also sent letters to the three major credit reporting agencing giving them a heads up that the Discover card will become delinquent and explained my fraud problems and also sent a fourth letter to Discover Card as a formal complaint about the eight fraud charges on the accounts totaling $463.00

I just got a form letter from Discover on September 20 asking for signatures and a few answers to questions involving these fraud transactions.

These are the following charges and reference numbers which are not mine and are as follows:
March 28 7601101FA02LMJXAO $50.00 Verizon Wireless
April 28 7601101G902MBRE5Y $50.00 Verizon Wireless
May 28 7601101H702NIGGOM $50.00 Verizon Wireless
June 28 7601101J602NPWHZ9 $50.00 Verizon Wireless
July 24 7601101K102PAVYAB $88.00 Verizon Wireless
July 25 7601101K102PB2YDP $95.00 Verizon Wireless
July 29 7601101K502PE76QA $55.00 Verizon Wireless
August 01 7601101K802PGEL7W $25.00 Verizon Wireless

I have also talked with Verizon Wireless and found out that the format isn't correct as to the identification of the transaction number. Verizon says they
don't use any alpha characters in their transactions number. They believe someone out there is using Verizon Wireless as an imposter. Anyway, hopefully Discover Fraud department can figure out where the money is going and catch the thief or thieves.

My question to all of you? How can it be possible to get a new credit card, fresh with a new account number, never been used, never even been activated to have four transactions on it that are not mine?
