NCO and their attorneys placed a lien on my 14 yr old daughter's High School Account. When I called their attorneys they said they would only release the lien when I proved that my daughter was the primary holder of the account. I faxed over the documents showing she was the primary account holder and copies of her deposited checks of 20.00 a week. I explained that my name and social only appeared because I am the custodian. She legally cannot open a bank account without my permission.
After faxing the requested information they advise me that they would only release the account when I made some kind of payment via Western Union. I explained that I at the moment cannot make any kind of payment because I am receiving SSI, they ranted and raved that other clients who are on SSI and SSDI make payments regularly. I asked to speak with a supervisor who said she was listening in on the conversation and that I now must send yet another fax from SSI. I told them they as attorneys could get the information, why ask me a disable single mohter to go down to the Social Security Office, which by the way is way out of the way for me. At the end of it all, they refuse to release my daughters account with $16.00 in it. She now cannot make any deposit for the account is frozen. I don't know how they get away with this.
