After some exstensive dental work, my dentist's office helped me file for the care credit, what a mistake. First they took away the no percentage if paid off in a year. Then, by my own fault, I missed and was late on a couple of payments. They called me 5 times a day and when I would answer the phone, no one was there.
My husband answered the phone surprisingly, there was person on the other end. They proceeded to tell my husband all of the details of my accout. This card was in my name only. Needless to say I was upset.
I finally got to talk to a person and they set me up on the hardship program where I would pay 50.00 monthly. I gave them the date I would be sending out the check and it did arrive on time.
The phone calls continued. I explained to them I had sent the check out and please stop calling me.
About a week later, I got a letter from an attorney stating GE Money Bank had turned my account over to them. When I talked to GE, their reasoning for doing this, I asked to stop calling me.
They had absolutely no business giving out my information to my husband and not accepting the hardship payment plan because I asked them to stop calling.
I am not a deadbeat, I pay my bills. But sometimes we get behind. I think they treated me very unfairly and now my credit report is going to affected by this.
What are my rights in this?
