Paying twice in one month

I sent my payment in along with the payment reciept and when I called to see if my payment had been recieved, it had, but the recording is telling me to send in another payment by August 29th. How can I be charged twice in one month for two payments? If I want to add more money don't I have the option to do so without being forced to make another payment to avoid some kind of late fee charge. Something is not right with this payment process.
