Bullies

I too have had horrible dealing with this multi name company. I actually work in collections for a living and when i initially purchased my car from Centrix, I always paid on time. I knew the company had been purchased but hadnt had to deal with them until my company went out of business and I was without suitable employment for quite some time. I contact the company and voluntarily gave updated information. At this point, I was legitimately 4 months behind and was calling to make a payment (not the full amount) with the remainder to be caught up in two weeks.

First of all, as with all the other people, they talked to me like I was a piece of garbage when I contacted them to make arrangements. I should also mention that I had my car for about 4 years already when a really good pay history. As usual, they immediately requested my address and condition of my car so they could come and pick it up, totally regarding the fact that I was calling to make a payment.

The first person I talked to was actually a nice person. He allowed me to make the partial payment on the date I stated. I called on that day to say I was making the payment and that is when I encountered the devil. There are rules and regulations in regard to collection procedures and this company broke at least 75% of them. I was called names (and not what my mother named me). I was degraded, threatened and the list goes on. The devil that I spoke to, said he was not agreeing to the previous arrangement made by the Manager i had spoken to earlier. He told me that his manager was mistaken by what he had told me and he was overriding his managers decision. Talk about power tripping!!! I requested to speak to the person I had spoken to before.

The rep (John) did acknowledge that the first gentleman was really his supervisor but I wasn't allowed to talk to him. Also that whatever he said went and it didnt matter what his manager and I had discussed. This went on for about a half an hour before I hung up to regain my composure.

When i called back, I was transferred back to him. I requested a recording of the conversation and was DENIED by him. I am not suggesting that I wasnt liable for my payments but the company would not be in business except for people like myself. I was under the impression that the goal for collections was to get the money. Most times if they repo the vehicle and sell it, the dont get the loan amount and the rest just goes on someones credit report.in addition, the vehicle was taken and I recovered it since the gentleman refused to accept my payment. This included the current months payment which was due in 5 days.

On that fifth day, I received a call from the company reminding me that my payment was due. I explained that I had just given them all the payments and fees and wasnt due for another month. The lady on the phone said there was a $125 rekeying fee because they had to cut a key for the company for them to go pick up the vehicle. Well when I picked up my truck from the lot, they said they didnt have a key. They were never given one. I called the company back and they told me to get a letter from the owner stating this. Better, I called the owner and he called them directly with me on the phone with him. Issued resolved right. Wrong, they told me that wasnt what the owner said, not knowing I was on the phone with him.

Meanwhile, this went on for 3 months and these months all got reported as 30 past due dates because the $125 was lingering month to month even though I made the full car payment each month. Finally, I got the situation resolved, or so I thought. I was still asked to pay the money on the fourth month after being assured the adjustment had been made. Come to find out, they credited the back of the loan and not the $125 posted on the account as a current payment due. Eventually, I think, they credited the money but not any of the interest involved in my payment which showed late for an additional 4 months after I was current.

Well, life has dealt me another bad hand and I am behind with only 5 payments remaining. I just filed a chapter 13 and called the company to inform them of such only to be told that it sounded like a personal problem, at which point I hung up and havent called them back yet. Of course they want the car back but I have dealt with these jerks for 5 years and refuse to lose my vehicle now so I have moved with no forwarding address. They will get updated information when I feel comfortable they have received my Chapter 13 papers.By the way, incase someone from the company reads this, when you have been notified that there is an active bankruptcy, youre not suppose to contact the individual anymore...
