I ordered a CD online to assist me in finding grants for single mothers. The ad said the only fee was $2.95 for shipping. I put that fee on my debit card. I received the CD in the mail only, no additional information in regards to 'membership'.
As I was checking my online bank statements, I noticed a $49.50 charge from Funding Resource. Since I had not authorized it, I called the toll free number for hours and kept getting a busy signal. I contacted my bank and filed a dispute.
The following day I tried to call the toll free number again. I was on hold for close to a half hour total as I kept getting disconnected.
I finally got a CSR on the phone, who insisted I had signed up for membership after 7 days by accepting the $2.95 fee. He explained that in 'tiny print' this information was included.
As I was telling him that a $49.50 charge appeared withing 6 days of my ordering the CD and I wanted the charge reversed, the call was disconnected. I tried several times to call the number back and got a busy signal.
The CD never worked and when I tried to log into the website, my password was rejected. There is no contact phone number on the site you are directed to.
I too incurred fees due to an extra charge I had not budgeted in my checking account.
This company has to be stopped!
