I contacted 1st Guaranty mortgage to repair my credit and issue me a mortgage loan to by a home.
I talk to a gentleman on the phone by the name of Al Estruch he gave me the whole spiel and told me it was going to cost two payments of $347.50 and they could get started repairing my credit and issuing me a approval letter for $130,000 to buy a house.
I told him I could not afford that much because I am a single working parent and my money is real tight.
He told me hold on and I'll see what I can do, a couple seconds past by and he came back and asked me what kind of payments I could afford. I told him probably $200.00 the first week and then another $200.00, then the final payment the week after.
He told me hold on and he will check, a couple seconds later he came back and said that was good, he was writing everything down and needed a check number to charge the first $200.00. I gave it to him and then asked when will I receive the contract to sign, he said I'll get it to you as soon as I can.
A few days later I was checking my account and $347.50 was taken out of my account. I was furious because of this my account was overdrawn and I received about 3 overdraft fees.
I called about thirty times both Al Estruch and the President Stephen Lalonde's number but all I got were answering messages and this was during business hours.
I finally got ahold of Al Estruch and told him that I do not want to deal with this company and to return my money that they had taken along with the fees that I encounted because of their mistake. He told me to fax a form stating I cancel all relations with the company and to fax it to him. I faxed the document as soon as I got off the phone with him. I tried to get in touch with him again but it took about another thirty calls and did not get back to him until the next day.
After about two days of calling I finally got ahold of Al and asked him about my refund. He told me he turned in the paper work and he would check on where it is going. He said call him back in a couple of minutes but I tried and no answer. Finally after about another week a man called me from the company and said the check was in the mail and I should receive it the next day which I did. Finally this all took place in about three weeks.
I put the check from the company with company letter head on it in my bank. I had checked my bank account about a week later and it was overdrawn again because the check that they sent me had bounced and was returned to my bank.
