I was contacted on the phone this morning by Carol Somer she stated she was a "Financial Advisor" with Consumer First Financial. She explained that I had applied for a credit card several months ago (I don't recall doing that) and that I had been declined, not for bad credit but for lack of credit points. She continued to explain that she had reviewed my file and that they would extend credit to me in the form of an unsecured credit card, a regular visa or mastercard that could be used anywhere, with a limit of $3,000.00 it would have no monthly or anual fees and a low interest rate of 9%. She said the only thing that would be required would be a one time processing fee of $298.25
She said that the fee would need to be automatically debited from my checking account and the credit card would be sent by fed-ex or ups 2 to 3 days after the money was received. She said that there was a consumer guarantee that would be explained to me by the verifier that would speak to me next. I told her she would need to speak to my husband and she should call back. She called back two hours later and spoke to my husband. She convinced us that this was a scam proof, genuine offer that would be helpful just in time for the holidays.
My husband and I decided to do it, he was transferred to the verifier Mr. Brandon Arch, I was listening in on the other phone line, and immeidiatly knew this was a con. Brandon spoke very fast and his speach was unclear the details he provided where different than those provided by Ms. Somers, we had given ms. Somers an account that we don't use anymore because we thought this might be a scam and felt pressured. I'm glad we did. When I checked on the consumer complaints they have had numerous complaints.
DON'T BE FOOLED YOU WON'T GET A CREDIT CARD in the mail you will get a catalog with crappy merchandise and a card that is worthless. Take heed. Be careful these people are professionals and they have no morals. Ms. Somers didn't care that she was taking advantage of people who didn't have the money to loose.
