Applied for a loan online, Karen Adams with Emerson Financial called me and said I was approved for $10,000 at 6%. All I had to do was pay 6 months of the loan up front, totaling $1400.00. Everything seemed legit. I searched to see if it was a scam, but found nothing. I sent the money via moneygram to Canada to a lady named Victoria Kennedy. I was supposed to have the funds deposited into my account the next day.
The only thing I got the next day was a call from the infamous David Madden, informing me that the insurance company would not insure the loan. I had two options: pay another $1400 or cancel the loan and have my money refunded. I chose the latter, but than was told I would not get my money for one month. I was supposed to get the money today, but of course nothing. I called the number... Doesn't work anymore.
I can't believe I got scammed. They are right when they say that you never think it will happen to you.
I have now sent letters to Dateline NBC, 20/20, Primetime ABC, World News with Charles Gibson, and Nightline ABC. I urge everyone else to do the same. We need to Fight Back, and make sure this scam stops!!!
