Approximately four weeks ago, I spent an exasperating hour talking and being routed to various "customer service" people for HSBC, trying to pay off my last credit card and close the account. Finally, one of these agreed that $575.00, which was subsequently deducted from my bank account, would close the account and we would be finished. I hung up the phone with a sense of relief.
Suprise, suprise - I received another bill today, several weeks later, with no record of the transaction, stating I owed them another $283.00 and a late charge of $35.00. These people appear to intentionally lie. Surely there is some way NOT to let this outfit get away with this kind of bullsh*t.
