I had a checking account with US Bank. Unauthorized charges were allowed, fees were applied (that i unknowingly paid), i never received my statements properly, the account was force-closed by the bank and sent to collections with a balance of -$358.45 at 22% interest daily, reported to credit and Chexsystems, even after i had made this account right, tried to close it then report it.
It has taken two years and the help of outside agencies (BBB, OCC, FTC, FDIC) to even get a response and someone to take me seriously at the bank.
The account should have been positve $1059.98 at close.
US Bank is only willing to admit to owing me $602.45. Of that, they are STEALING $358.45 to pay the collector to whom they have stated i should have never been responisible to.
I was promised a month ago that i would receive a check for the measely $244.00 and my info would be removed from collector, credit and Chexsystems. This has not happened and have been checking with the collector.
I am out for $1059.98 for account, almost $300 for the copsts of attempted recovery plus communications, the irrepairable damage to my credit over the last two years.
US Bank's "five star service guarantee" states that customers can expect certain banking benefits and services or they will be paid for their inconvenience - this is a lie.US Bank refuses to honor their own policies.
Also, upon brief research of some of the board members, i am in disbelief at how them, their money, and the bank are intertwined.
