I am still outraged at the lack of consideration and shabby service that I received. I used my apparently too new card to finance a business trip, and as a result almost found myself stranded 3000 miles from home and unable to eat. I received a card with a $2,000 limit. I decided to use the card to finance a business trip where things limited to room, board and trip related food will be reimbursed. With the exception of some prescriptions that I wanted filled before the trip, the other charges made on the card are related to the trip. I used the card to get a $100 cash advance at the airport, pay for ground transportation and some sundry items. Everything was fine until I checked in at the hotel. The hotel made an almost $1,200 authorization. It went through, but triggered some flag that caused Household Bank to lower my credit limit and place a hold on my account. I found this out while I was out sightseeing and wanted some souvenirs. When I called customer service, the rep told me that my credit limit had been reduced to $1,506 and I only had $53 dollars of available credit. I explained to him that I was in Chicago and would be in Chicago for 3 more days and that was unacceptable. He told me to call their credit division and proceeded to start talking to me about their Identity Theft Service.incredulously, I hung up on the drone, and called their credit department. They told me that the were concerned about the large charge on my card, and despite the fact that I told them what I was doing and where I was and what state I was in, now, they would only agree to increase the limit an additional $100. You can guarantee that once I get back to work, I am going to rush the reimbursement so I can pay these people back. My advice to anyone is don't use this card if you have any kind of emergency or expect to make a large purchase. This is one card that you need to leave home without!
