My husband was contacted by Freedom Resource by phone offering him a Visa or MasterCard credit card with a $2500 limit to help rebuild his credit. All he had to do was authorize an electronic transfer of $221.95 from his checking account.
This was on or about September 20. We heard NOTHING from this company until November 16 when we received a "benefits package" in the mail and the promise of a "stored-value Mastercard" reservation form which would be arriving soon.
December 2 we receive the "reservation form" for the Mastercard, telling us that it is NOT a credit card at all, and NO credit will be extended! I sent them out a letter on November 18 demanding our money back and have heard nothing thus far.
Everytime we try to call we get put on hold and never get to speak to anyone. Plus, we have an outrageous phone bill from all these long-distance calls to Georgia! WE WANT OUR MONEY BACK!!!
My husband had a bad feeling about this a couple days after the initial phone call, but of course they had already taken the funds from his account!
