I shouldnt be surprised after finding this site that the very reason that I dumped 5/3 concurrs with what I see repeated. I was with old kent before they merged with 5/3 and I guess I never read the fine print about how they do business following the merger. They are out to make money and lots of it often big chunks at a time. They like their $33/ problem and want to multiply it as much at each problem as they can. If you have a number of charges which come back on the same day and takes you a dollar over, they will return all items and charge 33/item rather than return 1 and pay the rest. It makes them the most.
Once I had a mistaken charge put on my account which I did not authorize and they wouldnt reverse. I contacted the unauthorized charger and they admitted it was a mistake. Why wouldnt 5/3 change it? $33. Banks make money on fees, all of them do. 5/3 likes to make a lot of it this way. I dont know if any other bank could possible be more larcenous than they? DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AND IF YOU DO DUMP THEM before they rob you like they did me..
5/3 working hard to be the only bank Ill ever LEAVE.
