Charged $10715.00 for concession trailer never built

Husband and self wanted to start own business to ensure future for our children. We google concession trailers after looking on ebay and found bazaarfrenzy. Very impressive web site with ebay endorsement included.

Contacted sales and bryan potter informed us they had one trailer left that they were going out of business and would sell the trailer for $9500 excluding appliances. It was already built just needed to select paint color for siding and roof color and any appliances we wanted.

Acquired a loan to pay for the trailer and 1/2 of selling price was required for deposit. Wired money and start date was on receipt of deposit completion date was 4 weeks from start date.

After 3 weeks i started getting susposious because potter was not responding to calls nor telling us at what stage completion was at. I did a more thorough search on bazaarfrenzy and found an injuction from ago in mo. Against bazaarfrenzy and owners caroline fitzgerald and former owner ronnie love.

We called everyday trying to find out where our trailer was and potter got real upset and told us if we wanted it so bad to come get it and he would load the appliance up and we could install them ourselves.

We went to st. Louis and the address they had on contract did not exist. We went to ago and told them our dilema. They contacted the lawyer for caroline fitzgerald and she called trying to convince us to wait another week while they welded an axle, tail lights, and tongue on to the trailer. Still did not have plumbing nor any appliances. All this for $10715.00.

We called ago and told them we would not accept it that we could come back home and find a shell (what they wanted to settle with) for $2500.00

We came back home and we now are waiting to see what the ago is going to do. They have taken our testimony and copies of all documents. We are so far in debt now and cannot start our business.

At some point in the future we will try again but before I ever give anyone another penny my lawyer will have checked them and the contract out throughly.

I am not fond of lawyers but after this experience I am a believer that anyone looking to make a business purchase must first enlist the help of a reputable attorney and pay him or her whatever they ask.
