August I went to a chiropractor for treatment, it was for a period of time and the charge was going to be around 2800,00 they immediately told me of the Care Card with deferred finance, so this is what I did. I stopped treatment in Dec realizing I was at about my best and at that time ask the card company to issue a dispute on the money.in the meantime after much adoo the Chiropractor issued me a refund check which was not the correct amount so I ask the card company for another dispute form. I sent the entire refund $1152.00 to the credit card for payment, in Oct. 2007 after many correspondence the Chiropractor sent me another $120.00 which I sent on that months payments although the payments were around $37.00.in Dec I received EOB from Humana which was my insurance at the time stating they had sent the Chiropractor additional money far as I can figure around another $585.00 which I then contacted the card company to let them know and for another dispute form which I filled out in Jan. I continued to make my payements to the card company.in the account information with a balance summary there is a previous balance, new purchases, payments, credits, fees, and adjustments, finance charge (in bold letters), always with 0.00 and my new balance well this months bill came and it had in the finance charge 649.00, I was told this had been located on the bottom of my bill, well I ask you when a person reads a credit card bill they read the balance summary, then any purchases and make a payment based on the payment line, this company I guess banks on the fact one may not read below the accoung activity, because what theyt should have done was carried in the balance summary on the finance charge, a deferred amount and the expiraton date so one would know and know exactly when it was due not on bottom of the page. I called them today and begged them to please let me pay the card off and remove the finance charge or split the charge with me but they were very rude and would not do this. I have been for a solid year trying to straighten this out and never once did the card company issue a dispute credit, I sent a check today in the amount of $845.85 and marked it in full as with the charge I owe more than I would have to start with. I also cut my card and put it in the envelopr I sent the payment to GE Money Card PO Box 960061 Orlando Fla 32896-0061 and a copy of the check and a note to the El Paso address which is the place all disputes go to. This is highway robbery especialy when they are saying the expiration date was 2/21/08 and I called today 3/03/08 to ask please take my payment in full. They are like loan sharks and I want them to remove the finance charge completely as I feel it was deception not to list it under summary balance where it would have been very noticed and I would have made sure to pay it by the expiration date. Also since this is an unsecured loan do I stand a chance of just not paying them the finance charge or what.
I want to know what to do at this point and time I feel I paid the bill in full and they are being very hard nosed about this and were deceptive in the way they issue the bill like I said why not list it at all times in the balance summary. They are very evil people and I have wasted much time and effort by the way I have always put a balance based on the dispute amount on my check and they have cashed all the checks. Does this mean they were accepting the balance amount I put on the check. Please help me in this issue. I will be making a separate filing on the chiropractor as they know full well they got paid more from Humana and should have refuned it to me rather than keep it as I paid them in full at the beginning.
