I was looking for a personal loan on the internet. The site took me to credit.com. I entered my info and the site stated that one of different companys will get back to me.
Fremont Leading was the one company who contacted me. I spoke with a Robert Whitman who told me that I was approved for one of two loans. He told me that I needed to send him $1,000.00 as a five month payment in advance in order to receive the money. It was to be sent by money gram.
Something told me to look up the company for verification. I got on and could not find anything with a leading company other then mortgages and everything about them was not good. So I kept looking and came across this complaint.
I read it and how someone else was contacted by them and the names and story was about the same. It said to contact the police department in Overland Park Kansas. Before I did that I called Robert Whitman to ask him what was going on, that I came across the article and what it was saying about the company.
He then told me that people who do not get loans will slander the company. So I told him I would call him back with my info. I really didnt, I instead called the local police department for the area the company was in. I told them of what I read and said that I was advised to contact them.
The officer I spoke with said he would look into it and call me back. Within two hours the officer called and stated that no such company was listed as being at the address that was given. I called Robert Whitman back and told him I spoke with the police department and what the officer said. He told me that it must a mistake. I told him it wasnt that the police department would know what companys are in ther area.
I told him I would like the name of the company that would be leading me the money before I would send one red cent. He told me that he could not give that confidental info out. I told him this is a company I am borrowing money from and I cant know who they are? I said that I wanted to speak to the owner of the company he said that I could speak with someone in customer service. He put me on hold and no ever came to the phone. Please do not do any kind of business with them it is all a fraud. I was lucky enough to read the report before sending them anything.
