On January 2, I completed an online application on www.northamericanloanservices.com and completed an application for a personal loan. About one week later on January 15, I received a call from someone named James Wynford who informed me that I was approved for a loan in the amount of $10,000 at a 7% interest rate. She also informed me that due to my credit history that I would have to pay a 10% security deposit.
I review the application and the information about the company. Everything seemed legitimate. I completed and faxed the application back to them on the January 31. I received a call from someone from the accounts receiveable department, who informed me that I will have to wire using Western Union the funds to a representative of the agency named Tope Williams.
On 2/1/08, I wired the money to Tope Williams as requested. I called the company to inform them that the wire transaction was completed. The asked me for the confirmation number and informed me that the funds should be transferred to my account within 24-48 hours.
On 2/2/08 when I did not receive the funds, I called the agency to inquire on 2/4/08 as to why the funds had not been transferred to my account. They informed me that they had some diffculty transferring the funds to my account because the person who was actually sending it to me was tied up on friday and that I would recieve the money on 2/5/08. Itried to call them all day and i am getting no answer. I have a four year old not to mention my last day in the apartment was yesterday, we have no place to go or any family in virginia i was stationed here. It was suposed to be friday but it was extended due to the fact my aunt was killed last friday and i had to attend her funeral on saturday. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME GET MY MONEY BACK.
A filed a compliant with the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau who informed me of advance fee scams.
