I have been sending my payments to homecomings financial for the past 7-8 months paying 1/2 of the payment on the 5th of the month, and the remaining amout of the payment on the 15th of the month. All checks were accepted by homecomings with no problems. For the past 3-4 months, they have accepted by partial payments with no complaints.
Then i began receiving letters stating that i was behind on my payments. When i questioned the company about this, all they would tell me was my partial payments were in a floating account, which no one seems to be able to explain what a floating account. They said they only accepted the amount of the payment. I explained no one seemed to care in the past, because they were cashing my checks. When the housing industries began to fall apart, that is when the problems began. They began adding additional cost to my account. Receipt: 40.00 property inspection fee: 11.25. I have no idea what they mean and no one seems to be able to answer my questions.
They always tell me that is not their department, but never transfer me to the right department. On 1=12=2008 i mailed a check to homecomings which was 75.00 over the payment amount. Homecomings Financial returned my check to me on 1-29, with a letter stating my home was in foreclosure with the name and number of the attorney. I called the attorney and homecomings financial to find out the amount they say i owe.
Again, the attorney and homecomings would not give me an answer so i could bring everything current if needed. The lawyer needs a letter from me, and of course other info which will take me several days to put together.in the meantime, i am now a payment behind, which will be jan payment. I feel like homecomings financial is trying to make me lose my home.
Please help me if you can, because i am not getting anywhere with homecomings financial of their attorney. I have seen several people on the news having a lot of problems with homecomings financial. I have received no letters informing me of their "new" policy of adding things to may account or only accepting the correct amount of my payment. No one informed me my house was being foreclosed until i received the letter with the checks. I feel homecomings financial is not keeping a very good record of payments. I thought companies would accept any type of payment as long as it is paid in full before the due date.
