I came home and my roommate had informed me that a call had come in for me from the office of Don Burak, Attorney. The person was Mark Houston. Mr. Houston had said that his office had sent me documentation about a bill that I owed and was requesting payment. My roommate told Mr. Houston that I was not in and Mr. Houston proceeded to tell personal information about the file that he had on me. The information he gave was things like amount I owed, date I opened the account and date of last payment. He then asked my roommate to take care of this bill. I am disputing this bill because I cannot find where this is a valid bill that I owe. I certainly don't owe Mr. Burak this payment.
The Law Office of Don Burak has broken the privacy laws by disclosing personal information about me to someone who is not authorized to make any decision on my behalf. Privacy laws do allow a credit collection representative to talk with anyone about my account with the exception of myself and my attorney if I should in fact have one.
I have retained an attorney to help me fight this is a legal setting.
