I am another notch on the victim belt of Capital First Benefits.
After receiving their packet, which they deducted $29.95 from my checking account, and reviewing it, I found it had nothing to do with sending me a credit card, which
had been misreprsented to me in the original phone call.
I immediately called the number enclosed to cancel, since it stated that there was a 7 day trial preview. Ha. The employee I spoke with guaranteed me that my account would be cancelled and nothing further would be charged. I received a cancellation # and her name on 9/19/02, thinking all had been taken care of. Bad assumption on my part.
5 days later I discovered my account was overdrawn with two unauthorized electronic checks for $59.95 and $99.95 plus overdraft charges amounting to $120.00.
After getting the run around talking with four different supervisors, getting disconnected, and calling back, I finally spoke with a rude woman who told me I would be lucky to get back $99.95. The rest I would have to deal with corporate offices in writing with my complaint.
Meanwhile, I'm stuck with an overdrawn checking account and no money for groceries.
These people need to be taken down for good.
