This occured two years ago but I just found this web site so I wanted to share my story. As first time home buyers, my wife and i were shopping online for a mortgage. Priceline quoted us a lower rate (only if i waited till the 30 day period before closing) so after waiting and accepting a rate lock, they charged my card 395.00.
Soon after, I received papers in the mail to sign which i quickly did and sent them back with all my finance info.in the week to follow, it was impossible to reach them (even my realtor tried) and I left numerous voicemail but they didnt return.
It got to be two weeks from closing and the realtor for the seller got nervous and threatend to give another bidder the option to buy the house. (is that possible?) I had no choice but to quickly choose another mortgage company at a higher rate to meet settlement date. Priceline never called me back or apologized for they're failures and I know the 395.00 I paid is non-refundable so they wasted both my time, my money, and more.
My Loan officer (William Lipford) couldint have been more incompetant or discourteous and I recomend everyone stay far away from this company.
