This company RIPed me off for monthly payments of 12.95 from march to december. I requested a free report and to get it I had to provide a credit card number and a SS Number along with My mother's maiden name.
They started billing me each month without any notification or bill. I received no service or notification of service. This company is ripping off consumers each month without any notification of any trye of service for their fee.
I am only one of many, many consumers being ripped off-please shut this company down-No free credit report. Such as:
I did not sign up for any service... I just check my transaction online with my bank is this normal? Because they are charging me $12
I'll bet that you went to www.freecreditreport.com and got your "free" credit report without reading all of the fine print. You signed up for a credit monitoring service.
Funny, cuz i just got hit on my bank account for 2 @ $12.00 and yes it is freecreditreport.com I TRIED to cancel this report and there is absolutely no contact info to cancel. So now i get to call them in the morning and dispute these charges and hope to get my 24 bucks back. RIPOFF STAY AWAY
Ok, i've got some great information to help people like myself who got sucked into this. I have used several freecreditreport agencies. This is the first one that has charged me. If you have "NOT USED" your monthly services from them, when you see this charge on your bank statement imediately call them, and let them know you do not choose to have this service and didnt have an option to "NOT" receive the service. Also let the operator know there is no contact information and the web page states free. You cannot charge someone for services they cannot choose to not receive (e.G. You cannot be automatically setup for a fee based program if you wern't given the option yes or no). The phone number nobody can find to call them is... 877-481-6825.
I also told them the BBB was going to be informed of their "less than admirable" methods of stealing money. She said that my services would be canceled and funds sent back to my bank in 7-10 days. Hopefully this information helps others who were scammed. I recommened using equifax's online free credit score instead. Its 100% free
