Unprofessional... And anything but an "Upfront Lendor"

Where do I start? To begin I have less than perfect credit. I am currently in the process of trying to retain a mortgage to purchase a home. After finding the home I wished to purchase I logged onto the internet and filled out the "Lending Tree" online application. I was immediately contacted by David Carson via email from non other than Amerisave.in the email Mr. Carson stated that he had reviewed my information and could work with me to obtain a loan. I thought, Great... I attempted to contact David Carson at his contact number that was in the email and also through email. After several more emails that I received from Mr. Carson and several more failed attempts to contact him I spoke with another representative from Amerisave. This next person I spoke with was Emmanuel Horton. Mr. Horton at that time explained that Daivd Carson no longer was employed by Amerisave, and he could not explain the exchange of emails from David Carson. As if that shouldn't have been a big RED flag, I continued in my prsuit with Amerisave. Mr. Horton at first seemed to be at most, somewhat helpful. I was advised by Mr. Horton that I needed to send in my last 2 years of W2's, my last 2 pay stubs and last 2 months of bank statements. I furnished all of the documents that were requested within the day. I attempted to contact Mr. Horton to ensure that he had received the documents. It was 2 days later that I received a one word response to an email that I had sent him asking if he received those documents, his reponse was "yes". Wow, I thought. This guy is really on the ball, however, desperate people will do desperate things. The next day I attempted to call Mr. Horton several times as the home I wished to purchase was now in a bidding war. Mr. Horton called back and stated that I was pre-approved for the loan and I was sent via email the approval letter and certificate signed by the under writer Joseph Watts. I was given the green light to put m bid on the home.

So, as you can guess I put the bid on the home and won. Fantastic right? Wrong!!! After winning the bid, I attempted to contact Mr. Horton several times via the phone and email. Again, Mr. Horton is unreachable. He will not respond to emails and will not respond to voicemail (as he states on his message that he will return your call within 2 hours). If you do make contact with anybody at Amerisave they cannot help you because you already have a Loan Advisor, no matter how bad they may be, they cannot help you. I was advised by one representative that I could request to be switched to another advisor by contacting Emmanuel Horton's Team Leader if I wished to do so. After several more phone messages and emails and Urgent emails sent from an Amerisave Operator to Mr. Horton, I finally received a call from Horton himself. He states at that time he needed for me to pick a rate from a list he has compiled and give him a deposit of $395. Well, since reading the posts on this website, I was a bit skeptical at this point, since everything I had encountered up to now was almost exactly what the other posts were about. I asked numerous questions of Mr. Horton during that phone call, he assured me that if I were to give him my credit card number and the $395 that I would definately get the loan requested. Oh yeah, and if I picked my rate. I told Mr. "Johnny on the spot Horton", that I woud pick my rate and get back with him, he said, Ok. After getting off the phone with Mr. Horton I attempted to call his boss and ask some questions. Amazingly enough his boss was non other than Jospeh Watts. I left a voicemail for Mr. Watts stating that I had some questions for him regarding my loan. Within an hour of leaving the voicemail, I received a call from the unreachable Emmanuel Horton. Mr. Horton advised at this time that Amerisave could not put the loan together and he was sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank God that I only lost $100 in earnest money that I had to put down to secure my bid on the home. I hope by reading this post that NOBODY deals with Amerisave in the future. With all of the non communication and lack of motivation that was shown to me in my dealings with them it is a wonder they have any business. How can a self proclaimed "Upfront" Lender not even know when they no longer have an employee working for them? How does this ex-employee still send out emails from their company? How do stay in business by "dooping" people? It is simply a shame that people like myself are falling victim SCAM companies like this.
