Harrasses, calls place of employment, calls family members...
I financed a manufactured home through Conseco. I have had nothing but problems with the company since day one. I have recieved phone calls at work due to a late payment that wasn't even a late payment. The repeated calls to work cost me my job. The company can make a phone call if a payment is late but cannot call back to discuss refinancing or working out a problem with a late payment. Conseco called my parents house, (who have nothing to do with my loan) asking for information on me, threatening, being rude.
I have been threatened constantly by Conseco. No-one ever knows what is going on in that company, you talk to one person and then THINK things are all worked out then the next day you get a phone call from someone different for the same thing that you were told was taken care already. I had a man named Lee that called me about a late payment and wanted me to give my checking account number and was totally rude to me when I told him that I would not give that information over the phone, then he threatened that if he did not receive a payment in his office by 5pm the next day that he would have no choice but to reposess my home.
I had explained to him that my parents had both been sick and I had to take time off work to care for them, first my dad then a week before I was to return to work we almost lost my mother. He didn't give a rats ass about that, I asked if the there was a way that the payments that I was behind could be added to the end of my mortgage as I had heard that finance companies will do this to help a person out in hard times and I was told that this could not be done. I have NEVER spoke to ANYONE at Conseco finance that was polite, EVERYONE is rude.
I guess they think that is the only way to be to people or to threaten is the only way to get what they want. Threatening people doesn't make good customer service it only pisses people off. I wrote a letter to Conseco asking about refinancing and still have got no response from them, but I'll bet they will be on the phone or mailing something out the next time a payment is late. Conseco is the WORST company to go through for any type of loan and would not recommend them for anything not even as one lady put it, (financing for a dog house.)
