Opened a small business in responded to one of the credit card machine offers that came in the mail. Lease Finance Group offered a four year lease on a Nurit terminal. After signing the lease contract, I found out that I was grossly overcharged for the terminal and could have done the same function through the existing equipment I had for a fraction of the cost. Closed the business in Lease Finance Group continued to take the lease payment from the business checking account.in February, we decided to close the business checking account. Called Lease Finance Group to switch the electronic debiting of the lease payment to a personal account. Gave Lease Finance Group a current phone number, address and email and acct #. The next month, they tried to debit the lease payment from the now closed account. Called Lease Finance Group and asked them what happened. I was informed that although the correct banking information was in their computers, somehow it was not used.in the following two months the lease payment was properly debited from the correct account.
Recently, I tried to obtain credit to finance a project and was declined. I checked my credit report through Experian and found an entry from Lease Finance Group showing a charge off for 150 days late on this account. It appears they stopped the electronic debiting in May and did not contact me regarding the matter. I've called the following numbers: (312) 980-5600 (888) 607-3607 (866) 781-0440 (312) 980-5665 (818) 888-9500 and Metropolitan (collections) at (818) 888-8400. I'm getting the runaround, either phone calls that hang up when placed on hold or referral to Metropolitan.
I think it's time for legal action. I've worked too hard to keep my credit in good standing. Negligence by big corporations is inexcusable.
