I am now aware that Care Credit (CC) & GE Money Bank (GEMB) are together in these complaints. While using the Home Depots card for the first time I charged $25.00 & was 2-days late in paying-my fault. I was charged a $14.00 penalty-their fault. I cut the card. HD doesn't have GEMB any more. After reading some Ripoff reports I can see why.
Then there was my purchase of hearing aids from America's Didgital Hearing Center (ADHC). I signed a sales slip for the money to come from CC on a promotional deal with no interest or extra expense if I never mised a payment of $161.00 on the $2698.00 purchase. I received a letter from GEMB saying that they had not received the first payment & included their contract. Up until then I never had a clue about their contract or GEMB being the collector. I paid the billing 2-days after their smelly letter which was 13 days before the billing due date. I missed the Feb. Payment as they never sent me their timely bill. There is an office in Orlando or Elpaso TX & with no timely billing, due date or addressed enveope what was I to do? Then they helped me out & sent a billing on 02-28-07 with a 03-25 07 due date. Then they sent me another notice that I missed Jan. Payment (False it was) Feb. & that any applicable fees & finance charges would not be assessed on me indicating that I would not be penalized by their mistake.
I wasn't satisified with their billing figures or Feb. Fiasco so I made their April billing & then Paid them the remaining balance of $1,249.00. On 04-28-07 they billed me $265 & my problems started again An Orlando phone call that my wife answered because of my lousey hearing aids was asking for $30.00. She was told we wanted another billing & also some way to contact (ADHC) as My aids needed fixing & the company had vacated their office & discontinued their phone. She agreed to billing & gave us the same phone no. That was disconnected. On & after 05-26 I was billed $265.99 with 236 promo bal-29-517.47-811.00 - I paid them $248.00 which I paid under protest.
My wife, who has heart problems, was having very high blood pressure because of all the strain so I considered this as a forced payoff. Being as GEMB gave us a disconnected phone no. Plus all the other smelly things I conclude that they were in collusion with the ADHC & owe me $3206.00 That is including the Wal-Mart #3 ripoff report but doesn' include my wives 5-mile gangerous drive with 208 blood pressure to see a doctor & prescriptions. An attorney would be better to tally that one out. There will be another Walmart report coming up on GEMB. Stay tuned.
