My daughter is in the army, stationed in Bamberg, Germany. She's been there a year. She opened a checking account at Texas Bank going into the military for her payroll to go into. Every thing was perfect until Compass Bank bought Texas Bank. 2 weeks ago her account had a little over $2,000.00 in it. She tried to buy lunch and her debit card was refused. She looked online and it said account locked out. Calling the bank and asking why, they didn't have any explanation, except, ask your parents. I certainly don't have an answer for her other than they are theives. Calling the main office she was told it had to be credit problems or something. She has good credit and hasn't had an over draft charge in the past year so we all have to guess again. After arguing with the account manager, Susan for several days, starting 7/18, and being told it would be released tomorrow, and until this day she hasn't been able to touch a penny of her money. She is borrowing money and living on her credit cards. They no longer answer their phones to us or take voice mail. My wife went in yesterday and Susan saw her coming and said there's nothing we can do for you and walked off. Susan also told my daughter now that her account is unlocked, (Ha, ha,) she will have to wait 3 weeks to receive a debit card to get money out of it since her other card was canceled. She also told her she couldn't close her account unless it had a zero balance, but she could transfer her money to another Compass Bank but not to any other bank, and other than that she would have to come into the bank to do any business. She knows my daughter is in the Army and is in Germany and there's no way she can come in. So the saga goes on and on while they hold thousands of dollars.
