I recently received my free annual credit report from Trans Union and saw that this company had pulled my credit report 2 times for collection purposes. I called the ph# that I found for this company on your website and left a message for a return call to discuss this matter.
Today a representative with this company returned my call. He immediatley began barking orders for my social security # and when I questioned him about his need for that info, he began to scream at me, talking over me when I tried to discuss this matter.
I finally gave him my SS#, against my better judgement, and he said the collection was for a $300 balance on a store charge card. That account had been included in my 2000 chapter 7 bk. When I asked when why they pulled this file 2 times, he became extremely agitated to the point that I could not get a word in and he never provided an answer to my question. He also said that I must enjoy filing bankruptcy. I finally just said I'd have to report them to my attorney and this was followed by him screaming at me to DO IT! Do it! SEE IF I CARE!
At that point I hung up. Now I'm afraid they'll continue to pull my credit at will, he now has my SS#. What is my recourse to stop this from happening again?
