I had my first car loan with credit union in 1998, I payed car off. I never did any other banking with credit union until 3 years ago when I got another car loan with them. When you get car loans with credit union they automatically open a saving account, that account has been opened since 1998 but I never used them for banking.
In Jan, 06 I opened a checking account with them but I did not like their attitudes or the way they put fees on for everything so once all my checks cleared I stopped making deposits and began paying with money orders I had always paid before with cash. Everytime I walked in to pay my loan they refused and finally took it after several trys. Late fees were added on and they closed my account.in May 07, they refused to take my payment, Again in June 07, they refuse.
The July 07, payment is coming due and I will be considered 3 months late. I have sent copies of my money orders and their late notices by certified mail to the credit union with repeated requests to accept my payments or my release of lien.
I have made phone calls but they do not respond. I have never defaulted on my loan and have never been more than 15 days late and that was when I hurt myself at work and was waiting for my comp check. All my bills were paid even though I was living with workmans comp.
They are destroying my credit record, while I realize it is not the greatest I have been able to stay current with my bills.
I have copies of all correspondence to them and have my money orders for payments. I will not allow them to take my truck I only have16 payments left.
I want the credit union to accept my payments and do not want to do any further business with them. They are creating default and late fees to incur.
